Littlest Nutcracker

Well the big day finally came for Amira's first dance recital, and as to be expected we were so EXCITED. She and her little friends did a great job. The show was really fun.

Can you tell it's a bright sunny day for her big performance?
Little sweetie getting ready for her big "Candy Cane" performance.

Grandma & Grandpa had a little party after the show for Amira

Thank you for sharing the photos and videos of your daughter. They are lovely and Amira will be happy to be watching them all over again.

Download this software http://picasa.google.com/index.html it is an excellent free program from google to manage and retouch photos "Red Eye, dark photos and etc..." When you retouch or rotate a photo, make sure you do it on the copy of the original photo.

Next time when you attend Amira's event in future make sure you come at least 45 minutes early, you get front seats, so that you get excellent photos and videos with out using the digital zooming.

Hopefully you took more than 50 photos and that's the minimum !!!

Well, well, well, I am so happy I went to Amira's first dance recital!! She did an amazing job, and trust me, I had my fingers crossed the whole time!! :) It looks like Grandma threw quite the party. "Grandma had a party for me, but she didn't have any birthday cakes!" So cute!

Well, I'm off to go shopping, there's a certain yellow dog I have to find!

Oh by the way, from experience, front row seats are not always the best, as most of the time you can only see feet . . . just my opinion (for what it's worth)

I do agree with you depending how high the stage is, how far the front seats are from the stage.

Point and Shoot cameras are not great in low light situations in general, even SLR cameras sometimes do not work well in low light unless you have a mounted flash.

If you play Amira's videos through
Picasa or Windows Media Player on computer, you will find the video's will look far better then on youtube or Snapfish where you can upload your videos privately.

It was nice of Mixed Up Me to attend the recital.

Amira looked great and I could see she was enjoying the food afterwards :P... was she the youngest performer ?
That stage reminds me of the stages in school when we were younger .

Salam MusicLover,
Thanks for the suggestions. However, I think the best idea would be to have you there handling that aspect. :-) My poor dad was so nervous videoing (hence the reason there's two clips) that when he saw Mixed Up Me, the first thing he told her was he was so nervous---he felt it was like a wedding---would never be able to do this again and hoped he got it right. Will see if I can figure out the picasa thing--although I can't begin to tell you how long it took me to get to youtube---and was so proud of that accomplishment....LOL

Mixed Up Me, thank you so much for you and Vicky coming and serving as back up videographers and support staff. Can't wait to see your versions. I know Amira had the time of her life. So proud of her.

Salam PH,
Oh my goodness, you should have been there, but understand your probably nearly frozen solid by now. Anyway, I believe the youngest performers were 2 years old and they were sooooo cute. As soon as they wobbled on stage in their two-twos and diapers the entire crowd would say, "Awwwwwwww", and they'd do their thing. It was so awesome to see these kids get up there and do that. Now if I could have locked the parents up that were continually saying to their kids, "do you have to go potty--are you sure you want to do this? you're going to do it, right?" They were driving me freaking nuts---don't try to scare the kids--they don't understand or know what fear is at this age---let them be free to do it. Personally, I told Amira, "this is going to be so exciting--I'll be clapping and saying good job---I'm so proud of you". To which she said, "I know because I'll do a good job". LOL

Salam Anglo-Libyan,
Thank you--she is a sweetie, but then again all parents must feel that way, huh? :-) I definitely know you can relate when it comes to enjoying their excitement more than anything.

Salam Maya,
Thank you---you are right, I am so proud of her, mashallah.

Salam Enlightened Spirit,
Always a pleasure to see you stop by. You are right---kids make everything so enjoyably sweet with their innocence, alhamdullilah.

Depends what city you live in California if it is L.A then forget it, but there is always an exception to the rule specially when it comes to kids.

Nope---not L.A.---further north.

Thanks for the cool site---Amira will love it. Will now just have to figure out how to tweak the recipe slightly to make them sugarfree, which is no biggie. I love to hear Amira say the word cupcake as she pronounces it 'pupcakes'.

Seems like the parents were more anxious than their children :P ..... I agree with you they should cool it and act normal so the children don't get frightened ......

Speaking of ego :))))
