Women wonder why men fear marriage.....

MARRIED LIFE - IT MAKES MY EYES TEAR UP, SUCH A HAPPY ENDING !

A couple had only been married for two weeks and the husband, although very much in love, couldn't wait to go out on the town and party with his old buddies.

So, he said to his new wife, 'Honey, I'll be right back.'

'Where are you going, Coochy Coo?' asked the wife.

'I'm going to the bar, Pretty Face,' he answered. I'm going to ! have a beer.'

The wife said, 'You want a beer, my love?' She opened the door to the refrigerator and showed him 25 different kinds of beer, brands from 12 different countries: Germany , Holland , Japan , India , etc.

The husband didn't know what to do, and the only th ing that he could think of saying was, 'Yes, Lollipop... but at the bar... You know... they have frozen glasses... '

He didn't get to finish the sentence, because the wife interrupted him by saying, 'You want a frozen glass, Puppy Face?' She took a huge beer mug out of the freezer, so frozen that she was getting chills just holding it.

The husband, looking a bit pale, said, 'Yes, Tootsie Roll, but at the bar they have those hors d'oeuvres that are really delicious... I won't be long. I'll be! right back. I promise. OK?'

'You want hors d'oeuvres, Poochie Pooh?' She opened the oven and took out 5 dishes of different hors d'oeuvres: chicken wings, pigs in blankets, mushroom caps, and little quiches.

'But my sweet honey... at the bar. you know there's swearing, dirty words and all that...'

'You want dirty words, Cutie Pie? LISTEN UP CHICKEN SHIT! SIT YOUR ASS DOWN, SHUT THE HELL UP, DRINK YOUR BEER IN YOUR FROZEN MUG AND EAT YOUR HORS D'OEUVRES BECAUSE YOUR MARRIED ASS ISN'T GOING TO A DAMNED BAR! THAT SHIT IS OVER, GOT IT, JACKASS?'

and....they lived happily ever after. Isn't that a sweet story?

Fun in the sun

We played in the pool that is in the upper corner.

On Saturday Amira and I went to an aquatic swim center for the day. We spent 4 leisurely hours playing in the pool with lots of other families. It was so relaxing and fun.

I love days like this when the two of us can just hang out together and laugh. No phones, no rushing to get somewhere, nothing but the moment. There's no better feeling than living right here, right now, and what better way to spent that moment then with the one you love.

Single Black Female

This has got to be one of the best singles ads ever printed. It is reported to have been listed in the Atlanta Journal. SINGLE BLACK FEMALE seeks male companionship, ethnicity unimportant. I'm a very good girl who LOVES to play. I love long walks in the woods, riding in your pickup truck, hunting, camping and fishing trips, cozy winter nights lying by the fire. Candlelight dinners will have me eating out of your hand. I'll be at the front door when you get home from work, wearing only what nature gave me. Call (404) 875-6420 and ask for Daisy, I'll be waiting. .. ...

Fun

Wow, I had no idea it's been a week since I last posted anything. I wonder where I have been? You know, we like to think we are in control of every aspect of our lives until something like this happens.....life. Sometimes life just seems to get in the way no matter how much we like to think we are managing it. :-)

The other day Amira and I went on a movie date. We've been to the movies once or twice before but it was always with a group. This time, however, was just she and I. We went to see one of the newest movies that is out called Space Chimps. It was a cute movie and we laughed through a lot of it. Afterwards I told Amira I had fun and was glad we could do this together. She told me she had fun too and wished I had fun more often because all I do is work. Of course this broke my heart because there's nothing I'd like more than to spend all my waking moments with her.

In only a few short weeks she'll be leaving her little preschool and enter the big kids school aka kindergarten. Of course Amira is thrilled at the thought of going to big kid school and wearing her big kid school clothes (uniform) whereas I on the other hand am struggling to hold my feelings back because I'm sad that my baby girl is growing up. I know, I know for all you logical folks I understand this is normal and suppose to happen, but my emotional side is wanting time to stand still a little longer.

I'm currently still in a transitional time period with my two jobs. The phasing out of one and entering into another is both exciting and challenging at the same time. Again unchartered territory by an individual that doesn't take change too well, so feel pretty good about the progress. :-)

Great celebration

My parents anniversary party was a great success. They were very surprised when my brother showed up for the celebration as he's been locked down at the fire station for weeks now. So, they were thrilled to see him. He did his best to participate in the festivities then finally crashed on my parents couch from exhaustion.

My aunt, who isn't really an aunt by relation but an aunt to us nonetheless, flew up from Los Angeles for the celebration. For truly without her and my late uncle, my parents would have never met. My aunt knew my mom and my uncle worked with my dad and the two of them matched my parents up.

It was nice to see the friends and family that were able to attend this last minute get together, as literally it was only planned a week or so ahead of time due to my mom's recent heart issues.

For years and years my parents were always the host/hostess of huge bbq gatherings at our house, but this was the first one they ever attended without preparing for anything. They both seemed a little edgy about it because they felt they were suppose to be doing something, but in the end they settled down and had a great time.

My dad sent me this note the following day which gives a little glimpse as to how they felt about the party.

Dear __________,

Thank you so much for the wonderful party. It was perfect and not only Mom and I enjoyed it, everyone did.

I read your letter this morning twice and welled up with tears each time. You really said some lovely funny things and I appreciate them so much. You also made me stop and remember just how wonderful Mom is. It seems I have forgotten that over the past few years, I think because I am so focused on her health that I am not letting her be herself, the great person that I love so much. I just do not want to loose her and am not allowing myself to just appreciate her. Thank you for bringing that back to me.

I am so proud of you as I know Mom is. I am so happy that you are close and that we are able to be with you and Amira. We love you so.

Love,
Dad

Last Minute Good News

Received some last minute good news today via voicemail. My brother called while I was at work and left a message that he had some good news. He was being released for two days from his fireman duties, and will make it to our parents anniversary party after all. Now, if we can get his wife and son to keep their mouths closed for the next 24 hours it should be a wonderful surprise for my parents.

I will be getting all the food tonight and preparing as much as I can, along with picking up their cake tomorrow morning before heading to their house.

Also putting the finishing touches on the little speech I wrote to share with them and our family and friends that will be attending.

Although we still have fog-like smoke lingering in the air, the temperature seems to be cooling down a bit which is great news.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Amira's Birthday

Amira had great fun at her little birthday party. As always it was fun to have all the family and friends around. Unfortunately, though, Uncle Clint couldn't attend as he's on lock-down at the fire station due to the unusual amounts of fires underway in California. Pretty much for the last month we've lived under a fog-like-state of smoke and with it heating up to 44 celsius it makes for very hot humid weather. I think due to all the terrible air out there Amira, myself and many others have caught some kind of summer cold virus and are hacking up what must feel like to a cat, hairballs.

This weekend we are preparing a small family gathering to celebrate my parents 45th wedding anniversary, so hope the heat lightens up a bit for that get together.

Anyway, here's a few pictures from Amira's birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Greetings,

I will have to keep this extremely short due to some unusual circumstances. However, I wanted to share that today is not only our country's independence day celebration, BUT it's also Amira's 5th birthday. I cannot believe my baby is 5 years old today, alhamdullilah.

My bestest friend in the whole world, Mindy, fell ill with Diverticulitis and is currently in the hospital. So this morning Mindy's mom, Amira and I will be going to the hospital to see her. What will feel strange about the visit is that Amira was born in this exact hospital 5 years ago on this day. I told her we were going there and she seemed happy to see this place where she was born as she's not been there since, alhamdullilah.

Anyway, later tonight we will have a little family birthday party for her and then finish off her birthday by watching the fireworks from our front yard. We always tell Amira that the entire country celebrates her birthday..........lol

Blessings to you all.
