A Funny for Monday

~ Tough Love vs. Spanking ~
(a psychological conundrum)

Most of America's populace think it improper to spank children,
so I have tried other methods to control my kids when they have the one of "those moments."
One that I found effective is for me to just take the child for a car ride and talk.
They usually calm down and stop misbehaving after our car ride together.
I've included a photo below of one of my sessions with my son,
in case you would like to use the technique.
Sincerely,
A Friend

they have banned smacking in Scotland and were trying to ban it in England as well but i dont think its going to happen.

my feelings are, a little smack is necessarry from time to time but as long as it is that, a smack.

when kids are brought up properly, the chances of them being smacked get very slim as they tend to behave most of the time, of course saying that, I have seen parents hit their children in such a violent way that makes me so angry and in some occasions report them.

your post was funny by the way :o)

Salam All,
Every time I look at this kid's face I just crack up. I know that's sad to say, but it's true.

Ahmed, I too am all for discipline; however not all children are the same so there isn't just one full proof way of disciplining. I think parents need to learn what works for their child with respect to teaching them how to behave.

LOL@PH - Habibi, you know I couldn't do that to Amira, but don't think we haven't had our rounds in other ways....lol ;-)

Anglo-Libyan, I agree. I think sometimes parents just get too frustrated and react rather than perhaps handling things sooner so as not to over-react with such punishment.

Dusk Till Dawn, I agree with you on each child is different and should be handled accordingly. Also, agree with things start at home rather than the outside's problem to fix what's not being done at home. By the way, how is Adnan? He's been quiet. :-(
