Ballerina of Swan Lake

Mashallah, my baby – the dancing princess. The ballerina of Swan Lake.

Last Friday was an introductory ballet and tap class for kids from 4 to 5 years old at a gymnastic/dance studio near our house. Amira was so thrilled to be going to her own dance class because she sees me going to mine once a week. When we got to the studio and she realized they were kids her age, she was even more thrilled. So after trying the class she decided she wanted to do it again and again.

I nervously inquired as to the cost of the dance class and all the paraphernalia that goes along with taking classes (i.e., unitard, tights, ballet shoes, tap shoes, and lord knows what else they’ll want from you besides your two front teeth). I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t going to cost me my one good shimmying hip. I was informed we could purchase the clothes and shoes at our local retailers, Target, Wal-Mart and Payless Shoe Source, which I was thrilled to learn. However, I just know this isn’t the end----they will sucker me somehow as it seems to happen with my own classes. It seems I’m always buying a new outfit for any of our performances. Nonetheless, as long as she’s having a good time that’s all that matters to me.

So here are a few photos for this morning's class.

I'm glad you took pictures today! She looks like she enjoys her class . . . unlike my experience at Tricks! :) We can't wait to see her first recital (If I remember correctly, probably around Christmas.)

Have a great weekend if I don't talk to you before we leave.

Hi Mixed Up Me,

One of the mom's there today indicated they do recitals twice a year---one around Christmas and one in the summer. So, hopefully she'll enjoy doing it that long. :-)

Have fun at Ryles shower - hope all goes well. Can't wait to hear all about it. ;-)

Love ya!
